Delray Beach
Throughout the 20th century, Delray Beach went from being an agricultural community, to the home of many artists looking to spend their winters in a warmer climate perfecting their crafts. Cartoon artist such as Fontaine Fox and W.E. Pat Enright were among the artists who called Delray home.
This creative past has lead to great pride in Delray, as the city tries to preserve all of its beautiful and historic buildings. The Delray Beach Center for the Arts for example is in the middle of the downtown-shopping district. The Center was once the Delray Beach High School, and now is home to a museum, a theatre and an outdoor entertainment pavilion.
Things To Do In Delray
Across from the Shopping District is what has been dubbed the “artist district.” The street is lined with art galleries and decorated with sculptures made by local artists. There is also plenty of studio space available if you are looking to rent out a place to create your next great masterpiece.
Other amazing things to check out in Delray Beach are the Cornell Museum of Art & History, The Crest Theatre, The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. There is never a lack of things to do if you live in Delray and you enjoy the arts.
